Vaastushastra is nothing but a building
by laws of the ancient days. The
shastras are based on specific principles and thus help to regulate the flow of
positive energies in the premises as well as prevent the free flow of negative
energies.The vaastushastras can be used
as guide lines to day in deciding the usage of available space with reference
to the available natural environmental conditions. The location of kitchen, bedrooms, living rooms, toilets, storage spaces can be decided with reference to vaastu
principles for a better, healthy and prosperous living. The following are the few tenets of vaastu
which can be followed while planning the residential buildings.

lamp-post, dustbin and the gate of the main entrance should not be directly in
front of the main door of the house.

is considered not auspicious and not a good sign if the shadows of trees fall on
the main building between 9 AM and 3 PM.
-It
is auspicious to place the door leading to the stairs in the building if located in east or south.
-North-west
is the best area for utilizing as parking area for vehicles.

or south-east is not advisable since such extensions may result adversely for
the owner and the family or the occupants of the house.
-Alcohol
should not be consumed in the bed room, Storing of alcohol, oil tins,
insecticides, pesticides, etc should be avoided as such things create mental
tensions and aggravate anxieties.

towards the south direction while performing any good works should be avoided.
